ปารีสเป็นเมืองหลวงแห่งแฟชั่น อีกทั้งยังเป็นเมืองที่สวยที่สุดในโลกสำหรับอีกหลายๆ คน
มงต์มาร์ตร (Montmartre), แซ็งต์-แฌร์แม็ง-เดส์-เปรส์ (Saint-Germain-des-Prés) แหล่งรวมร้านกาแฟหรู โรงหนังและแหล่งซื้อของ, เลอ มาเรส์ (Le Marais) ถิ่นแฟชั่นทันสมัย, แบลวิล (Belleville) ย่านไชน่าทาวน์, โอแบร์กองฟ์ (Oberkampf) สถานที่ย่ำราตรีย่านต่างๆ ของปารีส มีกิจกรรมที่โดดเด่นเป็นเอกลักษณ์และทำให้เมืองหลวงแห่งนี้มีเสน่ห์อย่างที่เป็นอยู่
การที่แต่ละมุมของปารีสน่าเที่ยวน่าชมเป็นเพราะมีบรรยากาศที่ไม่จำเจ มีการผสมผสานอย่างลงตัว ภาพปารีสที่มีผู้คนเดินเล่น ขี่จักรยานหรือเล่นสเก็ตอย่างเสรีบนถนนเลียบแม่น้ำแซน หรือกลุ่มศิลปินที่นั่งวาดภาพบนสะพานปาสเซอแรล เดส์ ซาร์ (Passerelle des Arts) หรือภาพของอาคารบ้านเรือนแบบคลาสสิคที่มองลงมาจากศูนย์ศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมปอมปิดู (Pompidou) ภาพเหล่านี้แม้จะมาต่อรวมกันทั้งหมดก็ยังไม่พอที่จะอธิบายความเป็นปารีสได้ เพราะปารีสมีเอกลักษณ์ของตัวเอง

Message du Ministère des Affaires étrangères et européennes pour les Français de l’étranger

Le ministère des Affaires étrangères et européennes souhaite mieux connaître les attentes des ressortissants français résidant à l’étranger, ainsi que des Français ayant un projet d’expatriation, afin de mieux répondre à leurs besoins.
Pour mener cette enquête, un questionnaire est mis en ligne à partir du 1er juillet sur les sites Internet du ministère des Affaires étrangères et européennes (www.diplomatie.gouv.fr) et de la Maison des Français à l’étranger (www.mfe.org).

Les Français intéressés par cette enquête sont invités à le remplir. Les résultats de l’étude seront présentés à l’automne.

Risque d’attentats

Des attentats se sont produits en différents lieux de Bangkok le 31 décembre 2006 faisant trois morts et une trentaine de blessés, dont neuf ressortissants étrangers.

Depuis cette date, plusieurs bombes de faible puissance ont explosé à Bangkok.

Dans ces conditions, l’ambassade ne peut que renouveler ses conseils d’extrême vigilance à l’ensemble de nos compatriotes résidant ou de passage à Bangkok, en leur recommandant notamment d’éviter les lieux publics les plus fréquentés.

Cette mise en garde vaut également pour les lieux touristiques de Pattaya, Phuket, Samui et Chiang Maï, notamment.

L’ensemble des recommandations figurant sur la fiche Conseils aux voyageurs du site Internet du ministère des Affaires étrangères, en particulier dans les rubriques sécurité et transport, revêtent une importance particulière.

Tidal Island

Mont-Saint-Michel used to be connected to the mainland via a thin natural land bridge, which before modernization was covered at high tide and revealed at low tide. Thus, Mont Saint Michel gained a mystical quality, being an island half the time, and being attached to land the other: a tidal island.However, the insular character of the mount has been compromised by several developments. Over the centuries, the coastal flats have been polderised to create pasture. The south coast of Mont-Saint-Michel has thus got farther to the shore and the mount. The Couesnon River has been canalised, reducing the flow of water and thereby encouraging a silting-up of the bay. In 1879, the land bridge was fortified into a true causeway. This prevented the tide from scouring the silt round the mount. There are currently plans to remove the causeway and replace it with a bridge and a shuttle.On 16 June 2006, the Prime Minister of France, Dominique de Villepin, announced a €150 million project (Projet Mont Saint-Michel) to build a hydraulic dam that will help remove the accumulated silt and make Mont Saint-Michel an island again. It is expected to be completed by 2012.

Normandy

Normandy
Mont Saint-Michel is located in Normandy in the department of Manche. Its name comes from a small island, a granitic outgrowth approaching 960 meters in circumference that reaches 92 meters above sea level, dedicated to archangel Michael. The extraordinary architecture of Mont Saint-Michel and its bay make it the most visited tourist attraction in Normandy and the third in France (after the Eiffel tower and the palace of Versailles), with some 3,200,000 visitors each year. Classified as a historic building in 1874, the site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The church is crowned by a gold statue of St. Michael. which was sculpted by Emmanuel Frémiet, reaching a height of 155 metres (510 feet) above sea level. 48°38′10.05″N, 1°30′40.9500″W.

The Paris subway being exceptionally fast and clean, it may be your preferred means of transport while in the City of Lights, and all hotels in the center of the city are at a walking distance to a subway station
Since it is impossible to define where the "real" Paris is, the best is to choose your destination according to what you'll want to do and which ambiance you want to experience during your trip.
