Cambridge sometimes referred as Silicon Fen due to the growth of high technology in the city, is located at Cambridgeshire County and approximately 50 miles in the north-northeast of London, and surrounded by smaller towns and villages. Cambridge owes its popularity to the presence of the Cambridge University and also for its wonderful medieval architecture that makes of it a fascinating place to explore. After Romans has left England, the Saxons renamed the city as Grantebrycg and soon was change to Cantebruge, during this period Cambridge benefited from good trade links across the otherwise hard-to-travel fenlands. After England its conquer by the Normans in 1066, The king William of Normandy constructed the Castle Hill, during this period the name of the city changed to Grentabrige or Cantebrigge. Today Cambridge is an internationally acknowledged center of excellence for technology and science, and one of the most visited destinations in England and more than 3 million visitors come to Cambridge every year.
